There is a great historical non-fiction book called Gold Diggers by Charlotte Gray, documenting the Klondike gold rush of the late 1800's in which Jack London plays a large part. His attempt at striking it rich in Canada essentially gave him all the raw material he needed to write the stories he became famous for later. Oh, and he also lost all of his teeth to malnutrition and scurvy.
He is MY Jacky !!! You forget his famous pic surfing in Hawaii :) His litterature follows me since my 11 years old and he will stay my fav author during all my life. Thanks for this nice post.
