ReplyDeletewell !! i must say miss O is right ....it is tassels[glands] not pompoms.typical way of finishing yarns in the victorian/edwardian era and this up to the 30's on smoking jackets and robes .....
ReplyDelete"POMPOMS" was a private joke beetween me and MENTHE BLANCHE ;-)))
ReplyDeletementhe blanche !??
ReplyDeletei've got a nice 30's vest made out of a pendelton blanket but i must admit i rarely wear it. unless it's worn with denims it's a hard look to pull for me.prices on that stuff are crazy right now at local flea markets.....
"Menthe blanche" is a graphic designer I studied with… We have similar sense of humor… very private but similar… I like this indian style but does not wear it anymore… I really like it, in its original context only…
ReplyDeletesame here ...without the horse it's not the same .

- in the Southwest US they are often worn outside as a "duster," with boots and a stetson - shotgun optional, but would protect you from the theft of this highly collectible bit of Americana!
btw, the bottom pic with button is not a Beacon -
