Other leather model wich passionate me after the grizzly jacket, the A1 model. Civil or military, this jacket haunted my days and nights for a long time…Small Mandarin collar for the civil versions, buttoned front, flap pockets for the usual and first models… price for this jacket was reasonable few years later ( I missed lot of models for 200 or 300$), now the price of this collectible item is similar to a french vintage motorcycle 1500$…I finaly bought first LVC Menlo model and changed buttons with originals 30's bakelite. I still wait to buy an original one later… after the "wave" or maybe programed in a wrong ebay cathegory and definitly for a price wich correspond to the reality. All those pictures are issued from ebay. I collect them and have pleasure to post them tonight for you…

ReplyDeletea buddy of mine here in SF is working on an affordable repro in wool and also leather .i'll keep you posted
ReplyDeleteLove these jackets! Keep me posted too Patrick!
ReplyDeletei will guys .cool it though it's just a project for the time being .he has reproduce some stuff in the past but i always had to sort of "be behind his back"....my buddy Gregg [riveted] and i are on i case with originals form him to work with ....patterns and so on . i think we're going to go with wool first and if ok switch to leather .... believe me ,i'm exited too.i'll let you know
ReplyDeleteI don't understand why this famous first model in leather jackets history have never really been reproduced more often ? Military A1 model did but civil not really… Cushman did a suede and deer version and mister David Himel recently a horsehide and steerhide model … That's all… I could be a good customer of a brand wich develop this model… Yes I could…
ReplyDeleteHow about a combo wool and leather? That would be pretty amazing!
ReplyDeleteindeed .....
ReplyDeleteguess what!!! i guess it's coming soon ,that's why you see crazy prices on ebay lately .designers are buying as we speak to reproduce that stuff.it's cheaper for them to pay 2000$ than paying a dude to come up with the design .
ReplyDeleteThat's what I think too… probably soon in the new mc coy, The few or freewheeler collections…
ReplyDeleteThat might be, but I'd still rather have a vintage one than pay $1,000 for a "Real McCoy"...
